EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORTING CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES
Educare Small School stands against all forms of discrimination on the grounds of gender, race, origin or disability. We believe that every child has the right to learn and develop at their optimum learning pace.
We recognise that all children are unique and that their differences must be acknowledged. We aim to help all our children identify themselves as valued members of a secure group from which they can grow into confident, aspiring adults. We encourage each child to achieve an appropriate level of communication through language, mathematics, science, creative arts and information technology. A copy of our Special Educational Needs Information Report is available form the school office.
BEHAVIOUR AND ANTI-BULLYING POLICY
At Educare Small School we aim to enable all our children, including those with behavioural difficulties to think and act for themselves and as part of a community. We want our children to become self directed, creative learners with an understanding of their own feelings and those of others and to have good values in place.
We believe that children model their responses on what they see and experience around them and on what is expected of them. Therefore, it is important that the home and school environment support and reflect each other to allow the child to feel secure and confident about expectations for his or her behaviour.
We aim to elicit intrinsic motivation from within the child by meeting his or her personal needs, providing a sense of choice and control and encouraging community values and social responsibility.
Educare Small School does not tolerate any form of bullying from children towards other children or from adults towards children or other adults. We aim to provide a safe and happy environment where it is made clear that bullying behaviour is not acceptable.
